CrossFit D6 :: Rebrand

The rebranding of CrossFit District Six (or D6 as it’s affectionately referred to) was a leap year proposal rather than your normal engagement. At the time I had been attending their box for about a year and had fell in love with what their business was all about - community, wellness and trust. I felt their branding at that point didn’t reflect any of that. It communicated the outsider’s assumptions of CrossFit - grit, impact and toughness. I wanted what was inside of D6 (community, wellness, trust) to reflect on the outside. It’s what sets D6 apart from not only their direct CrossFit competition but also from other fitness institutes.

The task was simple: create branding that communicates all of the above, sell it to the owner of the box, and hope they love it (they did).

I’m a huge fan of logos being accompanied by tag-lines so people know exactly what the company sells/offers. What D6 offers is already in the name, so we added a tagline that rather describes the philosophy of the head coach. It’s simple, yet packs a punch in the fitness world. Trust the process. No matter where you are in your health and wellness journey, trust the process that your coach has laid out for you and you will reap the rewards.
