Bordoisila is the local expression used to refer to this wild wind, that marks the incoming monsoon season, as it is accompanied with heavy showers and strong wind causing widespread damage.
But a local legend compares the wind to a young, married woman named Bordoisila, storming back to her biological parents' home for the festival and destructs everything on her way, which is symbolic to the enthusiasm of the people of Assam for the commencement of Bohaag and its festivities.

The first day Bohaag Bihu is called Goru Bihu, the day for the cattle, dedicated to the upkeep of the livestock. They are given a herbal bath at the nearest water source singing this hymn. "Dighloti dighal paat, maakhi marru jaat jaat; lau khaa bengena khaa, bosore bosore bardhi jaa, maare xaru baapere xoru toi hobi bor bor goru". A rough translation "The leaves of dighloti, we drive away the flies (cows hate flies, we all do); we hope you accept our offering of brinjals and gourds, and continue to grow every year; and may you outgrow your parents"

Husori is the expression used to refer to the hymns sung during the festival of Bihu. In spoken Assamese, Husori also refers to the team of children or/and men and women singing these hymns as a blessing for the families in their village, a door to door service, and in return respect is offered in the form of Gamusa and money (my primary source of income during primary and middle school)
