In honour and celebration of Juneteenth, which is the oldest known celebration of the abolishment of slavery and systematic oppression revolving around the black diaspora, I have decided to highlight Afrofuturism.

Afrofuturism as a sub-culture challenges the western stereotype of African backwardness and the notion of Africa as a dystopia.
