Teochew Festival
Typography, 2017
Teochew festival 2017– a typography project. Given the brief to design a poster,
brochure and deliverables for the Teochew festival, an ideation process was done
to conceptualise the meaning behind the design.
Hands are used throughout the deliverables, signifying unity in the Teochew community, parallel to
the common saying “潮州人，家己人” which translates to every Teochew person a family member.
The colours used was light pink, in line with the current colours of the Teochew festival, making it
recognisable and retain familiarity even with a different graphic direction.
