The sinking of the RMS Titanic is one of the most infamous shipwrecks in history. The dataset I had contains demographics and passenger information from 891 of the 2224 passengers and crew on board the Titanic. One of the reasons that the shipwreck resulted in such loss of life was that there were not enough lifeboats for the passengers and crew. Although there was some element of luck involved in surviving the sinking, some groups of people were more likely to survive than others. The results of the data analysis, although tentative, would appear to indicate that class and sex, being a female with upper social-economic standing (first class), would give one the best chance of survival when the tragedy occurred on the Titanic. Age did not seem to be a major factor. While being a man in third class, gave one the lowest chance of survival. Women and children, across all classes, tend to have a higher survival rate than men in general but by no means did being a child or woman guarantee survival.

Data analysis of the ship has given me a clearer picture of the many separate events that
combined to doom Titanic. High speeds, a fatal wrong turn, cut costs, weather conditions, a dismissed key iceberg warning and lack of binoculars and lifeboats all contributed to one of the worst maritime tragedies. The sinking of Titanic lead to numerous improvements such as having sufficient lifeboats on board for all passengers, lifeboat drills, heeding iceberg warnings, radios were required to be kept on for 24 hours a day and an international ice/sea patrol was established.

For the campaign I planned to make series of museum exhibit posters, and factual postcard, that can be distributed at a museum exhibit for visitors to take home with them in the memory of Titanic. My design approach for the campaign is to blend the modern and traditional eras and keeping alive the beauty of Titanic. It is a well-known fact that she was the biggest ship of the time, and known for it’s tragedy. What we don't talk about as much are the lessons learned from past mistakes that I tried to show
in this campaign.
