This was a full page for Portland Monthly Magazine about the trials and hardships faced by a local theater to make a stage production out of Ursula Le Guin's book "The Left Hand of Darkness." The characters in the book trek 900 miles across a frozen glacier, a feat not easily adapted to the small stage.
