PMS stands for the following: Property Management System. This is a local management system used to handle bookings, availability, occupancy, check-in / outs, photos, guest profiles, report generation, etc. In-house (in a single hotel) this program manages the on-site activities.

The PMS can be related to other applications such as the POS or the CRS. The CRS gui is a further choice for transfer of availability, reservations and information on the guest profile.

More connections to external and internal networks such as room key networks, hotels, banquet cash registers, mini bars, telephone and call centres, sales control etc. are also accessible at a range of interfaces.

The hotel operating system (HOTEL OS) is also known as PMS.
