Logo Reconstruction and Branding for the Inspire Institute of Sport
Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) is India’s first privately-funded High-Performance training Centre that trains talented young athletes across five Olympics disciplines - Wrestling, Judo, Athletics, and Swimming. Spread over 42 acres in Vijaynagar, Karnataka, IIS is a unique initiative led by the JSW Group. IIS aims to be the destination of choice for all Indian athletes who dream of success at the Olympics.
JSW approached us to reconstruct the existing logo and create a visual brand identity for IIS which is modern, clean, and scalable.
The urge to subtract drove our process. The focus was on functionality, simplicity, and legibility. Reducing colors, shapes, and forms to elemental simplicity was done to preserve the fundamental elements of the logo. We stripped as much away from the design to achieve simplicity and clarity in the new logo. The Typography is now bold and legible and placed right next to the logomark creating a well-composed unit. The logo reconstruction and branding exercise consisted of working with the client to update their existing logo and adding a fresh face to the company.
Inviting the world to the home soil, the logo is designed to embrace the Indian heritage with the use of colors from the Indian flag and pinned by a symbolic torch representing the Olympic flame, purity, a strive for perfection and life. The brand stands for the hunger and commitment that our athletes have in order to surpass themselves and achieve greatness for their country.
