The sole purpose of this project was to explore construction conventions and details for a design we created. From analysing precedents and existing structures, we need to create a functional/buildable design along the wellington waterfront. My design was a cantilevered bridge near Jerningham point that acted to provide a better pedestrian walkway along the busy road. The design allowed for easy access to the small beach area underneath and provided more separation from traffic. The bridge itself was mainly constructed with reinforced concrete and treated timber. Having small planters located in the middle.
