A Tamil Book about the loss of pure language through the evolution of a society and its language. The English words engraved on the back may be extremely common-use words, however, the Tamil counterpart of those words have drastically declined in use recently as they have been replaced with English. This book is also a commentary on tradition vs. modernization and the negative effects of globalization and idolization of English on Eastern languages and cultures. The acrylic box is bound with fragile black yarn- symbolizing self destruction and showing how easily we can reclaim our language, if only we wished to exit the box. There are 20 leaves with 40 words, created to resemble olai chuvadi (palm leaf manuscripts).
