Week 4: Art Movement Task
For week 4 task, we were asked to create an A4-size advertisement poster to promote local services or products. The poster should be designed according to a particular art movement that we preferred while considering its artistic ideals, styles, technical approach and timeframe.
I had chose Photorealism art movement for my poster. It is a painting style that emphasises on an accurate and precised details of a real photograph. Find out more information about this art movement on https://www.tate.org.uk/art/art-terms/p/photorealism
This is the actual image used for this task. It is a skincare product from a brand that is originated from Malaysia but it is available for sale through local authorised distributor and resellers.
This is the tutorial [https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=QN_P4JrkGG0] that I followed to turn the actual image into painting using Adobe Photoshop.
The steps shown below are some of many processes that I undergone to create the poster after I had turned the actual image into a painting.
Step 1: Open your image in Adobe Photoshop. Select Pen Tool from the Tool Bar (keyboard shortcut: ctrl/cmd + P).
Step 2: Trace out the subject that you wanted to use.
Step 3: Go to Paths Tab and you will see Work Path underneath it.
Step 4: Right-click on your mouse/trackpad and click on Make Selection.
Step 5: On the Make Selection Window, let the settings as default (in my case, I used 3 pixels the Feather Radius), and click OK button.
Step 6: When your subject has been selected, simply press ctrl/cmd + X on your keyboard to cut and press ctrl/cmd + V to paste it into a blank Adobe Photoshop canvas to create your poster.
The final outcome next to the inspirational Photorealism painting by Chuck Close.
