This project was inspired by the analog photograms of György Kepes (1906–2001), who was the last disciple of Bauhaus modernism, an acolyte of László Moholy-Nagy and a self-styled revolutionary artist. Although Kepes did not view photography as a central concern, it formed a link between his painting, films and technological and environmental art projects. Photograms are photographic prints made in the darkroom by placing objects directly onto light sensitive paper and exposing the paper to light. The aim of my experimental serie was to reflect onto his work with my own photogram layouts. I played with geometric forms such as grids and waves, domestic objects, nets and lines to create a base for my home decor print designs.
