In this project we focused on the formal qualities of six different typefaces, all from six different classifications of type. The goal was to rotate, crop, and scale the letters in order to highlight the different qualities of each typeface.
Bodoni, a modern typeface with contrasting thickness, curved serifs, subtly curved ascenders and descenders, rounded bowls, and counters straight on one edge and rounded on the other.
Sevenet is a pixel typeface, with the same thickness throughout, is composed of equally sized squares, and has no serifs or curves.
Snell Roundhand is a script typeface with and handwritten appearance, ball terminals, and contrasting thickness throughout.
Platelet is a decorative typeface with straight stems, rounded corners, and no serifs.
Futura is a geometric sans-serif that is based on simple lines and curves, and has a low contrast in thickness, and round bowls and counters.
Rockwell is an Egyptian typeface with thick straight serifs, straight ascenders and descenders, low contrast of thickness, and round bowls and counters.
