My task was to illustrate several idioms in free technique using three types of contrast (composition and color). For the project, I chose two well-known Ukrainian idioms and English one.
"Like a fish in water"
Very quickly and naturally, as if it were innate. The phrase also often implies a sense of enjoyment.
"a stone on the heart"
In a sad or miserable state, unhappily. The adjective heavy has been used in the sense of “weighed down wit grief or sadness” since about 1300. Its antonym light dates from the same period. The latter use survives only in light heart, meaning “freedom from the weight of sorrow”—that is, “a happy feeling”.
"to drop a bombshell"
To make an unexpected, startling or disturbing announcement. Reveal surprising information or news.
