Typeface: CarlMarx by Hidetaka Yamasaki
Il Poliedro (polyhedron) is a book shop based in Milan, Italy. They focus on RPGs, board games and comic books. The typeface used is CarlMarx by Hidetaka Yamasaki. The logo was originally drawn by the Poliedro's owner, Yenny, and resembles a D20 dice popping out of a board game rulebook:
To redesign the logo, I began by analysing its basic shapes:
I decided to go for a minimalist style, something that would look like an in-game RPG icon. For this purpose, a simple top-down view and and simple shapes turned out to be the best choice.
