Handwoven with love
Basics of weaving
I still remember when I was first introduced to weaving, there was this new vocabulary to get accustomed to, new equipment to learn to use, and new yarns to learn about.
The first time I wove on a loom there was magic I will never forget as patterns and colours seemed to appear out of nowhere.
Below is the project I did while learning about all these basics weaves and the calculations behind it .
Explorations and basic weave structures digitally made on proweave application.
Moodboard inspired by snakeskin and related textures.
Stripes and colour interaction explorations to visualise the weave and yarn palate better. Hand-drawn and handpainted swatches.
Yarn Palate and Handwoven fabric created using 4-shafts .
Samples created using 2-Shafts, explorations with tapestry and waste leather strips.
Samples created using 4-shafts
Explorations and samples made with 8-Shafts and Honeycomb  structure
This little booklet talks about my first experience in weaving and things I learnt through the process .‘Handwoven with love’ that is the name of the project and book, is very close to my heart and i would continue to take it forward as I learn more and more about this beautiful technique .
This is a photo shoot I did of my four shaft woven fabric. The idea was to drape the cloth in different styles so as to showcase the flexibility of a woven piece of cloth on different age groups.
