Tree has a significant meaning in Africa. People meet under trees, it means shadow, peace, fortune... So I called the project Community Tree not only to create a gathering area for the villagers but also to provide their basic needs such as water, food, electricity and shelter. Project consultant was Francis Kéré and appealed to his vision in culture and heritage in Africa. Public kitchen project locates in a village called Enobita in Cameroon. The project is to gather people in the village for the most basic
need; food. Villagers meet everyday to eat and cook together because most of the houses do not have electricity or current water, therefore they meet in the kitchen which is the only building has electricity and water. They not only cook but also
socialize in the area.
