The Sound of Sorrow book cover design
The Sound of Sorrow is a fantasy book about new realms, new cultures, and new magic. The cover was inspired by the magical artifact that the main character, Ava, needs to use to defeat the evil ruler. However something is wrong with the artifact, a simple picture, causing it slowly burn itself up. The book follows Ava as she finds out what’s wrong with the artifact, and what’s wrong with herself.
There were no design requirements for this project as I was trusted to have complete creative control.
After sketching a quick draft to see if she liked the idea, I created the cover by photo shopping each of the elements together, then transferred it to Illustrator to image trace and do the typography.
