Grooveprints (undergrad thesis)
Grooveprints is a visual-based approach to teaching Filipino folk dance. The product is a dance kit that contains a set of dance and practice mats.
Mechanics.
For this project, I chose the Jota Cabangon for its ballroom-like repetitiveness, time signature, symmetry, and song/dance form. I then proceeded to break down into sections and patterns.
Patterns to practice before moving on to the actual dance. The waltz step is the foundation of the Jota. Try it!
Now put it all together. :)

Initial studies of a confused student who hadn't done her research. (This mysterious creature with too many feet is the Itik-Itik, which was the folk dance I'd thought I'd be working on.)
