Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) is rare, aggressive and fast growing breast cancer in which cancer cells infiltrate the skin and lymph vessels of the breast. The American Cancer Association states only ~1% of breast cancer cases in the US are IBC.

My college roommate contacted me about a family member of hers that had recently been diagnosed with IBC. They needed a graphic for a fundraiser campaign to help cover her health expenses and support her family. She wanted something that combined the classic breast cancer ribbon with her favorite bible verse. This project hit close to home for me as many of my family members have also been diagnosed or passed as a result of breast cancer.  

For this project, we focused heavily on a bible verse close to the honorees heart. The verse can be seen at the tip of the ribbon. The grid above features some ideas and drafts we considered before settling on the right pose. The graphic features the official inflammatory breast cancer gradient ribbon color, the heart of faith for the honoree and the bible verse quote.
