'How to Design Lanyards' - Step by Step                                              cmbidsolutions.co.uk
Firstly, copy and paste the link below to download the template, then select (right click) open with illustrator.
Template: file:///C:/Users/Dan%20Mobsby/Documents/Lanyard%20Template.pdf
Next, use this part of the Lanyard template (shown above) to enter your design. This could be a company logo and slogan or a pattern one side and the name the other. Have a go and see what works best for you!
Once you are happy with your design, to align your design, use the illustrators rulers (as shown above).
Then use the rectangle tool (as shown above) to measure the distance between repeating your design. This will make sure you have the correct distances for both sides of the Lanyard.
Next, you will need to select all the layers used for your design and group them, (as shown above).

Now you should duplicate this group to get a copy of your lanyard design (as shown above).
With the duplicated design use illustrators rotation tool to align with the bottom part of the lanyard template (as shown above).
Next, you should duplicate the rotated design on the lanyard template and use the horizontal flip tool to flip the design the right way so that the lanyard flows all the way around (as shown above).
Finally, you may need to use the rotation tool to adjust the design slightly to fit the template but once done you will have your finished Lanyard design!
Also, if you need your lanyard printed, you can use this template (arrowed) that shows the printing preferences, (customise as you need, shown above is just an example).
