Ikko Tanaka's works are stunning on their own, so when I was tasked with animating a poster design his aesthetic and design choices immediately pulled me in. After vectorizing the iconic poster I experimented with the implied movement of the simple Swiss Air airplane form and built a narrative around it. When riding on a plane the environment is you see below you is built by the direction of the plane, or so it seems. Each plane flies a portion of the scene to its final position much like Swiss Air does its clients. Transporting both the scene and the passenger to exotic locals around the world.  

Every project has to start somewhere and storyboarding is one way to put an idea into practice. I started with simple pieces to build the narrative and let the concept evolve from there. Each plane or set of planes build the scene and reveal the final work.
