An 'invasive' plant is one that is non-native to the area is resides in and one whose introduction causes or is likely to cause economic or environmental harm or harm to human health. Invasive plants have contributed to the decline of 42% of U.S. endangered and threatened species. For 18% of U.S. endangered or threatened species, invasives are the main cause of their decline.

Plant Friendly is an app that makes it easier to both identify and address invasive plant species. Utilizing your phone camera, Plant Friendly identifies invasive plants species and gives the user information about how dangerous it is to the life around it and provides steps to safely remove it.
As a part of this part of this project, I produced illustrations of a few invasive species that would be used as a part of branding and as well on plant profiles to emphasize identifying features to make them more easily recognizable.
Features of the app include the ability to save or bookmark plants that the user has come across and mark their location on a mini map that can be found in each users 'Log' page, as well as a post feature that allows the user to share photos of their recent discoveries to other users in their area. Posts by users appear in the feed that displays all posts by others in user-specified areas.
Each plant species has its own profile that includes physical description, history, and advice on how to best control or remove it.
