Aesop's Fable Expressive Storytelling

The Fox and The Goat, from Aesop’s Fables, shares the message to “look before you leap.” By using type as image as well as the gatefold’s physical reveal, the story is elevated to an immersive experience. As the reader follows along, the type mimics the characters’ actions, emphasizing the goat jumping down into the well and the fox leaping out of the well. Overall, the project’s gridded structure, typographic hierarchy, and figure-ground reversal not only support the message, but also strengthen the story’s meaning.
