ANNA NYE's profile

Sustained Investigation #1

For this piece I asked myself the question: what does a child's imagination look like? I decided to create a child fishing for planets in outer space. First, I found a picture of a galaxy. Next, I found a picture of a girl fishing on a dock and masked it into the piece.
At first, I thought I wanted her to be fishing for the moon, but then I decided to use an astronaut to make it look like he was the bait for the planets that were being fished for so I cut out an astronaut and place it to make it seem like it was attached to the fishing pole.
Then, I used the pen tool to cut out all of the planets and decided to place them to make it look like they were being fished for. Next, I added a curve to each of the planets to make them blend into the background better.
Next, I changed the brightness on the girl fishing to also make her blend better into the galaxy. Then, I created layer masks on all of the planets and brushed over them to make them blend in also. For my last step, I also made a layer mask on the astronaut and brushed over him to make him blend in.
This is my final product of my sustained investigation piece.
