I will be creating a typographic movie poster. Based on a visit from John Metcalf and the work he shared, both his own and other iconic examples, I will design a poster inspired by something I've watched while at home on quarantine. The goal is to convey an idea of what the movie is about and to invoke interest in the viewer by using typography as the primary design aesthetic. I may use illustration, photography, or photo manipulation to add to your design, but type must be the focus of your poster design. 

I decided on Midway so I needed to make a plane so I traced an overhead shot of a Japanese zero.

I added the first plane and started messing around with text. I also added in an ocean texture.

I then made the text bigger with the intention of overlapping text and planes.

I then added sky and multiple plans to get the final design.
