Explore positive/negative shapes and figure/ground meaning in a composition and become familiar with the visual characteristics that achieve a figure/ground relationships. The goal was to first create a unit figure of 50% black and 50% white. This space was derived from a tool. Through Rotation, Reflection, and Translation, I created a black and white composition which demonstrates the visual effect of alternating figure/ground.
