New urban development of Konin City in Poland
Konin is a city in central Poland located on the Warta River. It is a beautiful and constantly developing city surrounded by numerous lakes and abundant greenery. The project's main task was to create a new urban concept for the undeveloped part of the city - Pociejewo "Island" isolated from the city by the Warta River and the Ulga Canal.

The concept aimed to use the location's natural values and create new recreational facilities and places corresponding to the residents' demands and wishes. Taking into account the natural landscape and existing thermal waters in that area, the tradition of organizing fairs and markets in Pociejewo, we have decided to propose a complex of multiple facilities connected by path walks and bicycle roads, as well as to improve the communication between the existing city and the designed area thanks to a new footbridge and water taxi, and propose a wide range of tourist attractions making Konin more competitive with other spa cities.

KEY POINTS OF THE STRATEGY:
One of the most important points of the assumption was the design of the thermal baths. Due to the Polish climate, the complex had to be divided into an open and a closed zone. The outdoor area was to serve mainly during the summer as a place of relaxation for Konin residents. The building was designed with natural materials and surrounded the inner zone creating barriers between the swimming pools and the noisy marketplace. Specially designed semi-circular form creates a private area in the central part of the complex and simultaneously directs the users' eyes towards the river's view.
