Scrap Yard is an action-oriented campaign designed to bring attention to food waste. Scrap Yard’s 120-page action guide addresses the causes of food waste—from the pragmatic to the philosophical—and offers in-depth solutions for reducing it. Through DIY projects, recipes, and how-to's, the handbook teaches the reader that preventing food waste can be both an effective and enjoyable process. I selected the color scheme based on a variety of natural dyes made from food scraps, such as beets and red cabbage. I then colored the iconography and illustrations using these dyes, resulting in a playful and thematic visual style.
