Our planet is in a bit of a pickle

This project is a hypothetical campaign for Greenpeace and is concerned with the damaging effect food waste has when it ends up in landfills. Food waste causes methane gas (a type of greenhouse gas) when it decomposes in landfills, it is thus vital that less food should be thrown away. The strategy then is to teach millennials easy ways that they can help combat climate change by motivating them to stop throwing away food. By embracing pickling more food freezing vegetables and making broth with Leftover veggies.  This then led to the creation of three Typographic tea towel designs, the designs feature different facts about climate change, tips on how to pickle food, freeze food and how to make broth. The tea towels were inspired by infographics. However, these infographics aren't traditional infographics and are inspired by advertisements and Newspapers from the fifties era to give a feeling of nostalgia. During the post-war fifties people were prosperous and had plentiful food to keep fresh. The fifties era thus is the inspiration for the visual language, chosen fonts and color scheme of this project.
The concept is to use food Idioms such as: our planet is in a bit of a pickle, Let's put climate change on ice and spilling the beans on climate change as taglines and themes for the project
