Walk a Mile Sculpture
For our "Abstracted Self-Portrait" project, my class examined cerebral and physical aspects of our personal identities using wood. I chose to recreate a pair of my boots, portraying my stride length. The implied movement of the boots conveys more cerebral aspects of my identity (e.g. my drive, my sense of purpose) as well. I installed the boots walking into the 3D Foundations classroom to represent my then near-constant presence in Riley Hall, the art building on campus.
From December 2020 to May 2021, Walk a Mile was featured in the Juried Undergraduate and Graduate Art Exhibition in the University of Notre Dame's Duncan Student Center.
