Description
The project requirement is to tell a worthwhile story of someone's life, this requires you to conduct in-depth research on the subject by means of interviews, research and stories. The visuals, along with the copywriting should help portray and communicate the personality/stories of the chosen persona.
Rationale
My chosen persona, is a family friend born in the 60's. I wish to tell the story of a former "big shot" at Pick n Pay, that has lived a naughty, wealthy and raunchy life. He used to indulge in alcohol, gambling and prostitutes as a hobbie. Being a wealthy man has it's perks, but can also be the biggest downfall. You can go from having everything to having nothing in a matter of 24 hours.
One of his many hobbies that stuck all through his life, was trout fishing. I wish to introduce this as my golden threat. The term trout has sexual hidden meaning–it is the term for an older man lusting after younger women, this is what drives the narrative and visual direction of this book. I use obvious imagery relating to a fish but, the use of colour, copywriting and generation of the imagery evokes sexual emotions and meaning.
The imagery was created by making simple ink "blotches" and patterns on a piece of paper, I saw images in these ink blotches and generated all the visuals from what was seen when looking at the "random" ink blotches. I further manipulated the imagery to create very abstract and vibrant visuals to communicate the underlying sexual tone found throughout this book.
Each chapter is introduced with a title relating to the method of "skinning a fish" after it had been caught, every chapter tells unique stories about his life and ventures as a drunkard.

Alterations
The presentation boards for this project can be seen as a very crucial deliverable to visualise the project as a whole. The presentation boards were very poor quality, the placement was off in most of them and overall created a reaction of discomfort when viewing the project. I believe I made valuable changes to the presentation boards.
