Leroy Stotelmyer's profile

The Mission of Racial Equality and Social Justice

The holder of a master’s degree in systems engineering from the University of Southern California, Leroy Stotelmyer works in special operations for the United States Department of Defense. Away from his job, Leroy Stotelmyer supports Racial Equality and Social Justice (RESJ), an organization that brings issues of under-represented ethnicities and religions into the spotlight.

The mission of RESJ is to narrow the social divide that separates people of different cultures, with the ultimate goal of helping all Americans, regardless of their race. To achieve this mission, RESJ identifies four key areas of focus:

1. increasing diversity at the local government level;

2. bridging divides in communities by creating new relationships and confronting harmful stereotypes;

3. empowering minority groups economically; and

4. working with local leaders to keep them accountable for their actions.

By focusing on these four areas, RESJ hopes to overcome systemic racism in America and create equality for all people.
