Emergency Housing for Gajah Wong Residents

Emergency temporary housing for residents in a slum area on the Gajah Wong River
In Law Number 1 of 2011 concerning Housing and Settlement Areas, what is meant by settlements is part of a residential environment consisting of more than one housing unit that has public infrastructure, facilities and utilities, and has other supporting activities in urban or rural areas. . The increase in population and limited land, as well as land that is getting more and more expensive over the years, has resulted in the community building settlements on vacant land that is not theirs, especially along the Gajah Wong River border line.
In Balirejo village, there are settlements established in an area less than 10 meters from the river bank, which violates the rules of Law No.1 of 2011 concerning Housing and Settlement Areas.
Therefore, the Yogyakarta City PUPKP Office launched the KOTAKU (City Without Slums) program which targets three urban villages, one of which is Muja-Muju, where Kampung Balirejo is located. A total of 41 houses on the banks of the Gajah Wong River, including RT 29, RT 54 and RT 52 Balirejo, Muja Muju Village were laid out.
The plan is for the relocation residents to be moved to a flat which will be built close to the residents' houses. Therefore, a temporary residence is needed for residents before finally being moved to a flat permanently. Due to the urgency of the need for temporary housing quickly, RISHA technology can be applied to meet the needs of temporary housing in a short but still feasible manner.
The site location was chosen close to the previous resident's house, and close to the Gembiraloka Zoo Tourism Site in the hope that residents can improve their economy while waiting for the relocation site (rusun) to be completed.
urban agricultural areas with fisheries underneath.
Temporary shelter, as a transition before the affected residents move to a permanent flat (Rusun), must be able to provide adaptation training.
So, the design of RISHA (Pre-farbication House System) with a low-rise flat system, by utilizing the leftover material from their old house, the old residential atmosphere will still exist, but with the flat system so that there is a gradual transition of adaptation, so that residents are not shocked and ready to live in permanent flat.
By using the RISHA system, government costs can be reduced because it is cheap and reusable.
In addition, construction can use used materials that are suitable for use from old houses that have been affected by evictions, thereby avoiding a carbon footprint from using new materials.
Each family gets a unit with 3 RISHA modules with bedroom, kitchen, dining room, family room equipped with sofa-mattress. With a compact design, the need for RISHA and land can be reduced which has an impact on reducing development costs, while still prioritizing comfort.
In addition to commercial and community facilities, additional facilities are provided in the form of a house of worship (mosque), a meeting hall, public toilets and parking spaces.

Temporary residential locations on the side of the main road and opposite the Gembiraloka Zoo can grow the residents' economy, by adding a commercial area that can be reached by visitors to the Zoo and the general public passing by.
