Combining a love for paper and thread.
Combining my love for handmade papers and hand-stitching, I created these bowls from a variety of paper strips stitched and woven together. These delicate bowls add a lovely decorative accent to any room.
Yellow Striped Bowl. A yellow paper and an orange floral paper were layered and hand-stitched with yellow thread woven with a black thread.
Black Bird Bowl. This beautiful paper was printed with black birds. I added a layer of black paper between the browns and hand-stitched the bowl using a black pearl cotton thread.
Orange Overtones. A layering of two orange papers are hand-stitched with yellow pearl cotton thread to create this unique bowl.
Orange Floral Bowl. An interesting orange floral printed nylon fiber paper from Bangladesh was used to create this bowl. The paper strips were hand-stitched with yellow pearl cotton thread. The outer edge is accented with black thread woven along the edge.
