Recommendations

Price: $70-$75
Foldable green screen that attaches to your chair.

Elgato Stream Deck
Price: $150-$250
Pricey, but super useful for any streamer to quickly change scenes and create custom macros. Lots of flexibility with what you can do with it.

Price: $50-$399
Adding one item I don't have, but want. Audio is extremely important for streaming, and since mic placement and proximity is a huge factor in quality I figured this would be a good item for the list.

I think the most common issues I see with new streamers are audio and stability issues, so here are two affordable ways to cover that gap and get started.

Price: $40
I’ve used a Samson GoMic that only cost $40 that is great for travel and does about as good a job as a yeti, which will do for most streamers.

Price: $25
I’d also say an Ethernet cable is a really unexciting upgrade but helped me a lot with stability.

Price: $179
I use this for multi-camera setup and multiple monitors. This allows me to show multiple processes, and take my cameras on location for broadcasting without disturbing my livestreaming set up.

Price: $20-300
A little lighting goes a long way. No matter how you make ends meet, whether it's a $20 ring light or a professional $300 one, making sure your face is properly lit makes your stream feel 100x more polished.

An Artlist Subscription
Price: $16.60/month
Music copyright and the internet have always had a love hate relationship. Artlist steps in to provide quality music that doesn't SOUND like it's stock. A monthly subscription grants you access to 40 song downloads a day! I play strictly Artlist music in the back of my streams.

Price: $249.99
When I first started streaming I didn't have anything fancy, I had a 2014 macbook, a cheap collapsible green screen, a Samson Meteor Mic which I attached to an old desk lamp arm as a makeshift mic arm, and a clamp light on the bookcase next to me. My first purchase was an external gpu (the eGFX Breakaway Box) to help my laptop with streaming, that was probably the most significant purchase, it has helped out not only with streaming but also let me run some 3d software on my laptop. I've slowly upgraded my set up over time since then to more fun things, but that was probably the most significant thing since it opened the door for me to have the power I needed to stream.

Price: $499.99
This is a broadcaster platform with 4-channel mixer, motorized faders, sound board and vocal effects. I have control all my stream audio through this thing - my mic, spotify, vocal effects, etc can all be controlled from this board. It's a splurge purchase for sure, but it makes audio much more fun when streaming!

Price: $269.99
I use it to manage OBS when I stream, but also to work alongside Illustrator. It's completely customizable and has lots of knobs, buttons you can play with!

Recommendations

Price: ~$30
Simple, but I bought an iPad stand earlier this year to free up desktop space. It's nice to have it propped up to draw without it interfering with the rest of my desk setup.

Price: ~$15

Price: $45
Staring at a screen for hours on end can be hard on your eyes. I attached these lights to the back of my monitor to help minimize eye strain. Their temperature can be adjusted to reflect the time of day.
