Redux / Icon
When creating the icons of kitchenware, form and structure was the first thought in order to make the icons simple and recognizable as possible. It started out by being very bulky, then by using the grid system, narrowing down the form made the icon shape more realistic. Decided to add reflections to emphasize the shape and give it a 3d look because without using those highlights would portray a plain and flat appearance. The colors for the icons popped out because the hue of each color is very bright, and visually we see color first, which is great to show clear signage for people in a kitchenware store. The colors of the icons contrast with the light yellow framing which makes the icon pop out more visually while using the darkest shade for the typeface to make customers see the words clearly behind a white background. The colors portray a fall themed feeling and thanksgiving is all about cooking homemade meals, and creating these kitchenware icons not only showed its shade in value but as well as its meaning. The Futura typeface stood out more by showing how clean, neat and spaced out it is to be clear as a way finding signage for customers to read. As well as how the thickness of the font is similar with the framing of the signage to keep it cohesive all around with the size. Therefore, these simplified icons show bright fall colors that are recognizable that represent each lock up word for easy way finding signage.
