Lindt Chocolate Bar Redesign

Project Description
This project is a study on packaging design. Tasked with creating a new collection and packaging series for the chocolate brand Lindt, the inspiration came from drinks of different kinds. The three new flavors developed became: Cinnamon Latte, Rum Raisin and Lavender Earl Grey. Originally, the design was minimalist with rather literal illustrations of the drink featured as the flavor, but because of the typeface used (Mostra Nuova), the packaging direction was changed to match it more in an art deco style. The Rum Raisin flavor has a deep red with hints of gold from the original Lindt logo while the Cinnamon Latte showcases a light brown and autumnal oranges. Lavender Earl Grey is mainly purple and violet hued to emphasize the lavender aspect. An icon was created above the Lindt logo to further the art deco style and was made into a pattern as the background of the packaging in each flavor’s respective colors. Each flavor is a different type of chocolate (white, milk, dark) and is matched with the flavor most suitable for that type. The typeface used has multiple weights, using a thinner one for the type of chocolate on each package helped create a contrast between the elements on the front. There is an overall similarity with the patterns and shapes within the package series while Cinnamon Latte uses white for the Lindt logo and text, it is the only exception within the three.
