a modern narration of the little mermaid

The work started in the photographic laboratory. The motives were created by a variety of water drops and the structure of transparent floral lace. Embracing the blue flower as motive of the romantic era. For more depth I digitally combined these to pairs. These I chemically transferred onto stone to print them with the technique of lithography in shades of blue and black.
Hearing the word "blue" I immediately think of the ocean. As child I dreamed of being mermaid. The mermaid in Hans Christian Andersens fairytale the little mermaid first leaves her safe blue world for love and in the end even gives her life. The story is about the freedom to choose your own path in life, to combine two different worlds, the melancholy of a broken heart and caducity.
