In this project, I took a look at the existing proposed logo for the 2026 Winter Games that will be held in Milan, Italy and Cortina d'Ampezzo. The website for these games is: https://milanocortina2026.org/. I wanted to completely redesign the logo, taking a different approach. I wanted a strong, impactful logo that could be interpreted to mean many different things. It ties back to both cities, as I will explain below. 

I wanted to draw inspiration from both locations in Italy. The logo was initially inspired by the unique and beautiful front window of the Duomo di Milano, shown in the right image above. The colors I selected and snow/snowflake inspiration was from town of Cortina d'Ampezzo. The logo progressed very much from where it began, gaining meaning the whole way. You can read more about the logo in the brand guide down below.

I also wanted to include an image of the icons I created for the games, three new games that will be included in the 2026 games. I was playing off the snowflake/figures in the logo for cohesion. I wanted the icons to be unique, fun, and easy to understand.
