Instructional How To Video

Assignment Description: Shoot, edit, and upload a 1.5-5 minute Instructional/How To Video. This video can be over anything...how to change a tire, how to make a perfect coffee, how to cook an egg, how to ride a bike, how to do a certain makeup, how to make a martini. Think of something you are skilled at, and something you would like to show someone how to do. You can be the main subject in the video, showing the viewer or you can have someone stand in doing the activity, or you can film someone who is good at that activity. (example: dad changing a tire). This needs to be something you set up though, you cannot get footage of someone whizzing by on a bike at the park who you do not know. Videos must feature 100% video footage from your videocameras or cell phone cameras besides the title pages. No recording screen shares recorded from your computer, or setting the camera up and recording your computer screens, all footage must be original video shot on your phone or camera by you. Assignments using screen share will not be accepted.  As with most assignments, aim for a variety of shots. Even if you are in a smaller space, mixing it up between a wide/establishing shot and a close-up of the person's hands will help the video flow better and not be stagnant. There should be someone talking in the video, or some sort of voice over. All video must be shot from you, no using random b roll. Don't forget about quality, even if you are shooting on your phone - don't shoot at night in a dark room!

Shots Needed: Eye level shot, low angle shot, high angle shot, over the shoulder shot, close-up shot, and either: establishing, wide or full body shots, aim for a variety! You should have at least 6-10 different cuts, but it will most likely be closer to 10-15.
