Telekom Malaysia - Website Revamp (2013)

Our long-term client Telekom Malaysia wanted us to propose a new design for its website, one that was more contemporary and user-friendly.

Taking cues from responsive design, web apps and small screen UX, we proposed a neater and more compact design that focused on a simpler architecture and a visual-based design.

The following mock-ups emphasise a tile design similar to popular sites like Flipboard and Pinterest that could display information in bite-sized chunks and yet retain a sense of flexibility in structure.

While the live website may differ from our original ideas, we're more than happy that TM picked our design to experiment and improve on!
The Home page would be structured into 3 main columns; a vertical navigation, a main carousel and a sidebar with 3 promos. At a glance, visitors would quickly be able to decide what they want to browse and reach their destinations quicker.
TM wanted to introduce e-Commerce into its site, so we worked with their team to design an end-to-end shopping experience for consumers.
The main navigation would be 'Play' for consumers and 'Work' for businesses.
A vertical mega menu would slide across to reveal sub-categories.
An accordian drop-down menu would then reveal inner pages, which would feature media and a prominent call to action on the 3rd level.
For copy-heavy sections, we proposed a visual feed that was complemented with quicklinks in the sub-navigation.
SME Blog posts, which provide essential tips for small businesses from a variety of collaborators, would be condensed for easier readability. If an article was long, users could scroll down in the 3rd column.
In the Events section, users could get a quick glance at what's happening in the world of TM.
A dedicated tab for TM Rewards brings the customer rewards program upfront.
The TM Social Hub aggregates all of the brand's social feeds.
The Contact Us page provides easier ways to get in touch with TM.
