Artist’s response to Waste Pollution
Series 1
An assemblage of single-use waste has started replacing the green of the environment by invading their surrounding place. Waste pollution is not only generating numerous environmental and health problems yet at the same time are creating an aesthetically displeasing scenery. The artist explores the relationship between humans and nature while examines the sequence and repetition regarding waste pollution. Andreou is transmitting through her approach the effects that waste pollution is causing on the ecosystem.
Combining her research around waste pollution with the environmental response it evokes, Andreou has introduced to us her performance-photographs that echo these concerns.
This project entangled with an emotional response towards Earth’s scream for help. The artist through her practice aspires for a sustainable future for all, along with people who are caring and appreciative towards a planet that we are just guests. Instead of the man being dominated over nature, the ultimate goal to secure a better future for the upcoming generations is the co-existence in a harmonious way between man and nature.
