CHINESE INFLUENCES ON MUGHAL ART

Project Description
This three phased project includes personal research about the Chinese influences on Mughal art, a billingual book with pictorial references to present the research completed under Tsinghua University, and a collection of collage artwork inspired by the findings. 

KEY FINDINGS
After the invasions of the Mongols, Chinese art and craft was heavily influenced and later patterns common to Mongolian art began appearing in Persian art. The Mughal Empire in India, especially during the reign of Akbar flourished and was considered to be the golden age for art, contained traces of Chinese mythological elements and patterns.
