As smart devices take over modern homes, the need for different members of a household to manage devices concurrently arises. This concept was, therefore, developed as part of the Human Computer Interaction Module at Bauhaus Universität Weimar. We started with interviewing potential users of smart technologies that live in family homes, or shared housing in order to understand their attitudes, contexts, requirements, struggles and hesitations towards them. Based on the user profiles we developed from this information, we developed a task flow, and subsequently a prototype. We then tested the prototype with some potential users to improve and fine-tune our prototype.
