This was an experimental project that came together from my researching into UK subcultures and how they have developed and transformed overtime. From my research I found that the way subcultures evolved was through borrowing elements from each other, some even joining together to form whole new subcultures (much like how music has evolved over the past 100 years). I first created the two 'frankenbears' as a reflection of this study then went on to create a story book about the two bears after some research on pop-up books. I created the story by photocopying pages from previously written novels, chopping them up and placing them together in a random order. The idea was to create a chaotic story that initially doesn't make much sense to the reader, and then create illustrations to go alongside the story that hopefully bring it together.
