Next Level Nursing || Game Development (Unity Engine)

Next Level Nursing is a point-and-click adventure game made by eight students of CMGT and IT at Saxion University of Applied Sciences for the client Saxion School of Health. The goal of this game is to teach nursing students about intercultural communication by raising their awareness about the diversity of cultures in the Netherlands and situations of potential intercultural conflicts in the hospital and different ways to solve them.

Next Level Nursing can be played and discussed with nursing students in class, but it can also be used by starting professionals in nursing. The current prototype contains one playable chapter, also called "shift", which presents a case that can only be solved by applying one's intercultural communication skills.

Made with Unity Engine. The project duration was from September 2020 - January 2021.

My responsibility in this project was the implementation of the UI elements like the main menu, pause menu, the splash screen, the scene transition screen and the end screen of Chapter 1. I was also responsible for programming the player data saving system to persist the player's personal settings from one scene into another.
