Social Media Invite and Instagram post illustration

In response to the social unrest after the murder of George Floyd and searching for purpose as an emerging graphic designer in the Twin Cities, a couple of fellow designers and I co-founded Creatives Connect MPLS - a volunteer group dedicated to serving people, businesses and organizations of the community that do not have the funds or resources for graphic design services. Our goal is to help make professional graphic design more accessible. 

Coimatan (a creative studio celebrating 50+ Minnesotan small businesses) was our first client. The work we did for them included copywriting/editing and illustrations. It was an amazing experience to collaborate with another new, grassroots organization that, like us, realized the unique richness of the Twin Cities. It was humbling to be able to share in the vision of uplifting and supporting the community in the best way we knew how. 

When working with Coimatan specifically, I was responsible for proofreading and editing a number of their social media posts. I was also the project manager and one of the designers for the main illustration and social media invite for their 2020 holiday fundraising event "A Night In to Celebrate." This illustration was featured as a 3-part Instagram post as well as the header for their Eventbrite listing. The holiday wreath that I designed and created was the main graphic used in their email blasts and sponsorship flyers.
