My chosen inequality for this project was the gender pay gap in the medical field. I focussed on how this issue is still prominent despite how advanced of a society New Zealand is, and how it isn’t fair on the women who work as hard as their male co-workers, and I hope to tell the viewer how ridiculous it is and support closing the gap so both men and women can have equal pay.

Despite being a female-dominated industry many male doctors are paid $10 more per hour in healthcare jobs. There are statistics saying that mean are being paid on average per hour $38.83 in comparison to women who are only paid $27.38.On top of that many female surgeons and doctors are always assumed to be nurses or not even real doctors by patients.

My concept sparked from the random idiom challenge, it was “wolf in sheep’s clothing” and it struck the idea about a female doctor having to put on a disguise to “be a man” so she can get more pay.
