Rather than simply rely on traditional collateral to inform prospective clients of their successes and informed opinions, Simpson Grierson instead published a bi-annual magazine titled source. The magazines were part of an innovative strategy designed to reset the law firm away from its staid competitors and reposition the brand onto a bolder and more innovative platform.
 
The majority of the talent featured were either partners or associates of the firm and the publication set the bar amongst the legal and corporate fraterity within New Zealand, and globally.
